Well, if the government would like to control the market , how much the profit the companies should make, then why not set up a quota for each company, say, Microsoft should not have a revenue of more than
$5B per year , and the profit margin should not be over 10%, SUNW should not have a revenue of more than $4B per year , and the profit margin should not be over 10% ...etc, and put this rule into law . Then , US will be a pure plan market, and communist country, I think this will make those Demo happy. Otherwise , if you really believe in free market force , then just let Microsoft alone , and let the market play out by itself. As a Microsoft investor, I do not think it is a bad thing if Microsoft makes all the money in the world if its products are the ones consumers want, and not because of government intervention .

Mr. Hardy, DOJ's case is weak at best; and laughable at the core

- the Supreme Court has already ruled that a so-called monopolist can't buy the #1 product; but has to invent it to be legal - which makes MSFT's actions perfectly legal

- I do agree w/ Jackson that no one will unseat MSFT's dominance in the PC arena anytime soon; but so what?

- as long as MSFT is in the trenches building the best products; and not buying up Linux & SUNW & the like; then they haven't done anything illegal

- Clinton & his cronies in the DOJ nauseate most Americans; including me
