Any child molester could say that.

The fact is anyone can say that. Are you implying that Elian's father is a child molester? There have been people saying "we don't know if Elian's father was abusive, maybe the mother was trying to get away from him" and other allegations that he is an unfit parent. We could also make the same allegations against the Mother, we know that she put him in a situation that almost killed him. Very noble of her.

To me, it is absurd that somebody could even entertain for one minute that it is ok to keep a parent and child apart based on the fact that they don't approve of the parent's idealogies...or more accurately, that the parent lives in a country where one does not agree with the idealogies of the country's leaders.

Robert,

As a woman and a mom, who would fight to the bitter end for her children if I believed they were in harms way, I feel your logic here is totally out of line. I feel your comment is very slanderous to Eilan's father and any father that would fight to keep their children. I think that unless you have verifiable proof to indicate that this child's father is a child molester.......You should not have made this comment. The logic just does not follow.
