Re: John this is a perfect example of how ignorant people can spread libelous accusations...

Elmer, please take a look at the comment you were responding to:

I'll even give you an example. Intel right now has a firmware hub under development and has given out the spec to the whole world under nondisclosure. A fundamental part of the PC platform standard and it's been distributed under nondisclosure! Why? This is a violation of every antitrust law!"

Components like these are completely different from systems used to secure systems and communications. Intel's PC chipsets are not "under ultra tight security imposed by a government agency which must remain unnamed." You're either mistaking one component for another or being disingenuous.

That comment of yours was just silly.

Dan

PS. I will say that IMHO, Microsoft is 10 times as bad as Intel, not necessarily due to Intel being any less willing to stretch the law, but because Microsoft really does have a full blown monopoly whereas Intel has some bits of real competition remaining.

Bash Intel

EP, you complain about this issue ad nauseum...sorry but you do repeat it over and over again. I agree there is justification for your complaint....Intel does get bashed a lot. But why do you think that is? I do not hear nearly as many complaints re a Dell or a GE or a Boeing.
