>>I thought most options were settled in cash when they expired. Is that not still true?<<

I have only seen options settled in cash on the Indexes not stocks. Index options in the money are settled in cash but a stock option must be exercised by you telling the broker then you buy or are put short the stock at the strike price. Of course you can immediataly sell the stock or cover your short that following Monday.

If I am wrong, then anyone please correct me and I will switch brokers <g>. I never have the funds needed so I always sell the option before expiration except OEX and even then I tend to sell since the OEX can move for the last 15 minutes after the close and I like to lock in my price rather than risking gains on the closing games played.

Good Luck,

Lee
