*** Y2K Gorilla & King Index ***

The first pass at the Y2K GKI is completed and installed in its customary spot at

siliconinvestor.com

Based on our 2 week discussion, I elected to use the following selection process and approach:

* Only Gorillas, suspected Gorillas, or Kings are eligible.
* Minimum Market Capitalization is $10B.
* Each component must be held in >10% of the portfolios of respondents to Apollo's November Portfolio Survey.
* Acquisition costs are based on the 12/31/99 closing prices.
* Equal weighting is applied, based on a hypothetical $10,000 purchase.

As a result of the above, the Y2K GKI consists of 3 Silverbacks, 1 Gorilla, 2 suspected Gorillas, and 4 Kings. The acquisition cost was $100,000, and the current value is $97,620, putting the ytd GKI at 97.62.

Thanks to all for your participation. Your comments, critiques, and candidates are welcomed.
