I am no tech expert, so can't help on the use of TDMA principles in HDR, but the two migration paths (HDR and 1x,3x) are laid out fairly clearly in the series of slides used for the Q's presentation back in November. You might try there, if you haven't already. To me one of the most exciting things about HDR is that it offers an easy shortcut to high data rates for existing IS-95 systems.
