Guy, I don't know what TA is telling investors about the stock price(i don't understand it very well). BUT-- I am seeing an increase in momentum. The exposure this company is getting will drive up the stock price in a big. I can't imagine a close below 190 on Monday(i expect 210 but will accept the 190 as a minimum).

Furthermore, even at the open JDSU should open around 190. It will provide a glimpse into how much momentum is behind this stock.

Monday will be a lot of fun.

Guy,..Re:.a good indicator that gives buy signals on up-trending stocks?

What about MACD?

207.95.154.130

I use the 50 period ema on 60 minute charts and confirm on the daily that that the dip has reached the 26 period ema or close to it. Bounces off this period seem to be solid. <g> Had a strong buy signal Friday morning but was "asleep at the wheel". Nice thing about the market though is that if we miss one opportunity, we will almost certainly get another! <g>

Cheers,

Lee

I used to sell CC's and trade them. My thinking was if you think a stock is a LT hold (JDSU) and has gotten ahead of itself, then sell a call and buy it back after you have made a few points on the shorted call.

Don't get greedy, because after all, if the stock is a LT hold then the points scalped on the shorted call is just gravy...

Sold some CC's on JDSU @$250 and the stock was $240. When JDSU ran up 18 points I quickly bought them back. Seems like everytime I sell CC's on stocks they start to run. Any insight you can provide when stocks hit the top of their channel would be appreciated.

Guy - caught the last bit of the discussion re: channels - is the 26 day MA the bottom of the channel for an equity ?
