I don't think so, Alias; many of us agree with you. But there are some valid reasons for splits other than attracting momentum (which would be unseemly for a Gorilla of Q's stature <g>):

Keep the stock in a reasonable trading range.
Increase liquidity (which the Institutions like).
Decrease volatility.

And the #1 reason for NOT splitting:

Surferdude Rick wants a $300 stock again!
