Guys:

This is really a no-brainer. Reverse the situation with an American child rescued and held in Cuba and the answer would be clear -- custody to the father.

The child is a political pawn. US governmental behavior on this issue inexcusable. I guess, "He who robs Peter to pay Paul is assured of Paul's vote."

And parental rights are a non-issue???

If this is about the rights of a child, then the American government should be going into every country we feel has a sub-standard lifestyle...and removing all those children from their parents.

I mean as we see in our own country.....we have all the answers. Americans children are model citizens. Isn't the situation in Littleton proof of this country having the perfect ideals for raising our children???

robert, I always thought that it was the parents that decide for the children and not the other way around. Didn't many of you Conservatives get all bent out of shape over the unemancipated children who sued their parents over their rights.

I thought all Conservatives believe the son(and for many the wife) answer to the father and not the reverse.
