Taiwan's United Micro Dec Sales Up 49% At NT$2.62B TAIPEI (Dow Jones)--United Microelectronics Corp. (Q.UME) of Taiwan posted a 49% jump in sales during December to NT$2.62 billion from NT$1.76 billion in the same month a year before, the chipmaker said over the weekend. Accumulated sales for January-December rose 58% to NT$29.15 billion from NT$18.45 billion during the same period in 1998. Most listed companies are required to disclose their December sales figures by Jan. 10.
