1/06/00 - Evans & Sutherland Appoints New CFO; Richard J. Gaynor Joins E&S from Cabletron Systems

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan 6, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Evans & Sutherland (E&S(R)) (NASDAQ: ESCC), today announced the appointment of Richard J. Gaynor to the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Gaynor is an experienced manager with a strong financial and operational background in global high-technology enterprises. Before joining E&S, his most recent assignment was Operations Controller/Vice President of Finance for Cabletron Systems, Inc., a $1.4 billion provider of networking solutions based in Rochester, New Hampshire. Prior to his appointment as Operations Controller/Vice President, Mr. Gaynor also served as Controller and Strategic Planning Manager for Cabletron's European Manufacturing and Logistics operations. During that time, he was elected to the Executive Committee of the American Electronics Association in Europe. Before joining Cabletron, Mr. Gaynor held increasingly responsible financial management positions with Digital Equipment Corporation and Wang Laboratories.

Mr. Gaynor earned a B.S. with honors from St. Patrick's College in Kildare, Ireland, and an M.B.A. from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
