Steve, great response.

This is a short term panic and a long term blip on the radar screen.

I expect a retracement to $60 before you know it.

>As for all the anger from those claiming McGinn must've know earlier about the bad results, let me ask you, would it have mattered had he come out the first day of the quarter with the same message?<

It would have made a huge difference. Bluster is not a character trait one desires in a CEO; credibility is. Lu's proposal to increase the authorized shares for a stock split was one of the greatest headfakes in history.

"If one slow quarter is reason for bailing out of the stock, calling for McGinn's head, etc., then you shouldn't even be a LU stockholder."

Dear Mr. Beckle,

OUR COMPANY is supposed to be at the center (O) of the telecommunications revolution! You know, the LOGO!

Opportunities are indeed knocking the door down, and if OUR COMPANY is not ready and able to deliver we MUST GO ELSEWHERE as customers surely will. The speed at which the markets are moving require this or you will be buried, never able to catch up. I'm talking sales as well as the market price of LU shares.

Didn't OUR MAN MCGINN as much as tell us to GO AND SEE NT/JDSU!?

Respectfully,

Abbigail

I would have to agree with you ...Except that CISCO and NORTEL are kicking our butts.
*At least their stocks are and that is all I care about.
