FWIW dept.- Dec Comp. Tech review has a pic of the 64 port director.......The text includes this "The new products SL, an eight-port starter switch that is software-upgradeable to full fabric support, shipping now to Sun Microsystems and MTI technology." I believe that ANCR would not put this in print if they weren't sending some, it could be 10 or 1,000 switches....my own take is that ANCR has been sending to upgrade the AL installs, but the full fabric roll out is still pending.......... THese FC seats are not for sale even if they are on a roller coaster until there is enough time to evaluate the impact of this new director product AND ANCR unveils the next gen ASIC. If the SAN will shift these are the things that should make it happen.........if ANCR surprises to the upside in some future Q's it will be because of these two events.

That doesn't make much sense to me. A change in accounting rules? A change in Ancor's revenue recognition policy. Was the 10Q a mistake because revenue never could be recognized until shipped by SUN to end-users, and SUN delayed doing that? A change in the Ancor/SUN relationship? Or something else? GAAP allows them to recognize WIP. Recognition of WIP by Ancor should have nothing to do with SUN's end use of the product. The biggest problem I can see is if SUN has cancelled the contract because ANCR has failed to perform. ~Sarkie
