Kash, until Dresden comes on line, how many Athlons do you think AMD can supply to GTW?

Kash, Gateway at last comes onside. Can dell be far behind? Well, yes, Dell will be far behind as I suspect AMD will be stretched to supply any more than Gateway and their usual suspects. True, AMD has more of the faster parts than Intel, at this time, but with far fewer fabs than Intel, that will not last. Dresden is the key. when it comes fully online at .18 then AMD will be able to supply everyone, just as long as Intel keeps up it's shares of sales.
Right now Intel must be thinkinh, 'shall we cut the high end prices for a cross the board war?' and at the same time they also ask the question, 'how will shareholders respond to the $10 share price this total war will produce?' Flash will not support the SP if the ASP is ravaged across the board? And soon this competition will spread to the server class parts. The successor chips......dead in the water as the current crop over-runs their abilities.

Kash,

<Apparently Gateways Athlon 600 system will sell for $1299 including monitor.

This is update from aceshardward.com.

Seems like a pretty sweet system to me.

They should move a boatload as this is their "sweetspot"

Hopefully they will have a k6-2 500 or 533 system as well.>

Gateway management said they typically do 55% of their business at this price point. Would be nice if AMD, as a second source, gets 30-40% of that biz.
