I don't know what Free Memory is, how to find it, or how to measure it. System Monitor: Click Edit/Add Item/Memory Manager. The one you're looking for will be called "Unused Physical Memory" or "Free Memory". I have a DOS program that uses a mouse driver (enables use of the mouse). And when the program is running hard, the mouse is very unresponsive. Sounds like a resources or driver problem. Are you using a special mouse driver? Maybe check to see if the mouse is sharing an IRQ with something else? (In Win98: Acessories/System Tools/System Information). Check the driver in Control Panel/System/Device Manager/Mouse/Properties/Driver And check cpu usage when the problem occurs. You also might want to check for conflicts or redundant devices in Control Panel/Device Manager. For instance, are you using the integrated video adapter on your mobo? If not, has it been properly disabled (i.e. it's not still listed in Device Manager)? Look around in Device Manager for exclamation points and question marks and make sure you have the right number of video adapters and monitors installed there. These are just wild guesses -- maybe someone will come along and recognize your problem. wily
