Chuck,

I disagree. Intel already took a risk of upselling to keep their profits in Q4. What will the management do next to keep the stock price up?

I agree with your assessment. I believe, down the road, Intel will gradually loose its power to demand premiums on its products as Athlons become more widespread and AMD spends more on Athlon advertisements. Currently Coppermines prices are 25% - 30% above the equivalent Athlons by taking into account the recent price cuts by AMD. IMHO, trimming down the 25% - 30% existing price premium to 10% levels alone could be an headache to Intel in the near term.

Regards,
Goutama

If they sell enough stock like CMGI to make their quarter, then the stock price stays up automatically. Charles, lets get serious about this..... the institutions do not want to give up old reliable.

Look what happened to LU this week.....they preannounce and get a 20 pt haircut. Intel doesn't make two quarters in a row, and doesn't even bother to preannounce and what happens.....the first time...the stock goes up and the second time, it stays flat. How you think Intel got so arrogant? So arrogant that employees want to tell GTW kiss my *ss if you want more chips. Everything is opposite when it comes to Intel. JMHO.
