regarding cree patents: ceo told me that they are prepared to defend their IP patents (which some directs characterized as extremely strong) but felt that unless and until there was a material economic impact from competitors/infringement cree (the gorilla) would let the chimps eat a few leaves from their jungle in peace...eg there was no point in creating a legal ruckus when they are not at all damaged...nor appear likely to be.

picking up from Uncle West's posts, cree stands to benefit from all the discontinuous innovation related to wireless and optoelectrics...

having owned the original gorilla (msft) since the ipo, i smell something similar here....
