I have one legitimate beef against MMs. I dont' like the Nasdaq order handling rules that give MMs an astounding 30 seconds to decide what to do with an order. That gives them so much time that they can wait and see what happens, and then decide whether to fill you (if its in their favor) or time your order out because it would be in your favor. These rules have got to change. MMs should not be allowed to keep an inside bid or inside ask up there with no intention of filling the order. Get the hell out of the way instead. They get 30 seconds on SNET and 15 seconds on SOES. Once somebody hits my order on ISLD or ARCA--do I get 15 or 30 seconds to decide whether or not I want to honor the trade? No I don't. In fact I don't even get 2 seconds to decide. It should be the same for the MMs to put an end to past posting, backing away and short term/temporary support/resistance manipulation.
