Aligent's product listing indicated SiC. In this regard they could be a customer of CREE by buying the wafer and a competitor by selling the LED's.

Sort of like QCOM when it was in the handset business, but selling ASICs and licensing the CDMA technology.

Thread:

There has been a proposal to remove BRCM and PSFT from the G&K W&W list because of the lack of interest of the thread in the stocks. Personally, I feel that BRCM may already be or could soon evolve into royalty in their communications semiconductor business. And Mike Buckley feels that PSFT is already a gorilla in the HRM ERP business.

If it is the case that BRCM is already royalty in its marketplace, then it doesn't belong on the W&W list. Same goes with PSFT and its gorilla status. Therefore, IMO, they should be dropped, if we can confirm these facts. Does the thread have any 'yea' or 'nay' comments regarding these two companies?
