AOL+TWX???!!! This is probably the strangest deal I have ever heard of in my life. AOL is still trying to find a way to complicate its business model one step further. I guess Yahoo has NOT prove to AOL what a simple and successful business model should be. Now let's hope AOL+TWX could double soon from here no matter how and who to run the new business and that will make it simply the biggest business in the world, yes, one double from here will make it bigger than Microsoft market cap.

I guess all the ISPs (ATHM included) should be very happy because AOL will let them piggyback on the TWX pipe now. LOL! AOL will announce how to open the TWX pipe soon.

AOL, Time Warner merge in $350B stock swap

<<On the open access issue, AOL Time Warner "will be committed to ensuring consumer choice of ISPs and content and that they hope this merger will persuade all companies operating broadband platforms to provide consumers with real choice."

That statement was an obvious reference to AT&T (NYSE: T) and Excite@Home (NYSE: ATHM). Excite@Home has exclusive access to AT&T. AT&T, however, plans to open up access.

Let's see what "consumer choice" will mean for them.

Mike: "Time Warner passes 21.3 M homes and has 13 M cable customers."

Of which I am one, and a Road Runner subscriber. I have no interest in AOL as my ISP, but it looks like I won't have a choice, YET. I wonder how many folks like me there are out there, they paid $5K plus for my $55./month (cable/internet) business, and I'll dump them at the first opportunity.
