John, re Niles' upgrade as reported by Maria, what I gleaned:

- Strong 4th quarter, which will reverse a trend (she said). I think she said, or meant, sales, but I'll bet Dan meant reverse barely missing, as in the last 2 quarters and making this one. In fact, next, she said Niles expects Intel to meet or exceed their numbers for the 4th quarter.

- 1Q expected to be slightly down in revenues from 4Q (note that this is quite normal, with Christmas and end of year corporate buying in 4Q).

- "Flattish" GM in 1Q vs. 4Q (of course, Intel guidance has been for slightly better 4Q GMs vis a vis 3Q, I believe).

- I think she said he said Y2K is behind them, not sure. Well, Y2K is definitely here, not sure if she said Y2K BS had any effect on Intel's sales.

- Upgrade to BUY from accumulate!
