believe the aol/time warner merger is a capitulation to the importance of broadband via cable to the "average" american household. athm well positioned, and i believe the markets are beginning to better understand....if athm shows earnings and subscriber growth this quarter, it could be the turn around point for stock price.

good luck, ed a

I believe that this merger bodes well for the following firms:

DIS - I expect them to look for a partner in internet access. ATHM, T perhaps.

T- Still the number one cable provider. Looking for content partnership?

ATHM - Broadband plus content. Need the media. Get me Eisner on the phone please...

Yahoo - The Yahoo model is pretty straight, but is about to get more complicated as they move toward a strong 'access' partnership.

I've increased my position in DIS, and have opened up new positions in ATHM and T.

"this is good news for us"

Interesting...AOL has been all over the place in trading. Currently it is down. ATHM is up nearly 2 pts. The Street must be mulling over the deal trying to make up its mind. At least AOL is demonstrating the need for a cable/broadband play.

Why is ATHM up? Is it pointing to how undervalued it is? What does the future have in store for us? Will we be part of a future mega deal?
