RBK.

Reebok is building what looks like a solid base near 8. Since the stock is in the S&P 500, it can be affected by buy and sell programs. I think that a buy program caused this morning's gap at 8 1/2, above the upper daily bollinger band. The stock already filled the gap, so maybe it will bounce from here...currently 8 1/16 x 8 1/8.

Here are some interesting comments from a 1/3/00 research note from Smith Barney concerning the athletic shoe sector.

Apparel and footwear stocks tend to favor the first six months of the year slightly. The group tends to outperform the S&P 500 roughly 42% of the time in January, before rebounding in February. Since 1987, the best months to own apparel stocks have been February, March, and August, beating the S&P 500 85%, 69%, and 62% of the time respectively.

I added to my personal position a few minutes ago at 8 1/8 and think that the stock is good for a bounce to at least 9 or 9 1/2 with minimal downside risk.
