My understanding is they plan on providing chipsets to enable new technology.

So AMD will have a chipset to support DDR.

And a 2 way / 4 way chip set for workstations at some point.

The chipset cost is around $20 or so as they are pin limited.

If they sub the chipsets and MB's they should have a MB cost in $50 range.

Imagine what $40 x 10M (AThlon systems in 2000) means to bottom line (assumes MB sells for $90).
