actually when asked if he got paid when anyone used QCOM IPR, he avoided the question, as he didn;t want to say that QCOM has a royalty free cross lic wiht him and that IDC only has rights to spreading rates higher than 10 MHZ, which precludes it's widespread use in the cellular band and
some of hte PCS bands.


Umm engineer....it seems like you just validated IDC's position. I thought that W-CDMA has provisions in it to allow channel widths of 5MHz all the way upto 20MHz. Not sure if I understand this correctly....but this is the first time that I have read anything (by anybody I trust) that IDC actually has patents that are worth something.
