I heard the same thing on CNBC...the only real big seller was the head of Bell Labs and his sale of 200,000+ shares was back in November which I wouldn't consider suspicious. He may have had a darn good reason. I myself sold on November 24, the day before Thanksgiving.

Now I'm sitting here wondering whether I should jump back in. With almost 50,000,000 shares traded to this point today, it shows that they are matching up sellers with buyers pretty good. The stock jumped up immediately this morning and has stayed around 57 most of the day so far.

Can't predict what the last 15 minutes before closing and the after hours activity will lay on us. My crystal ball is so darn cloudy...almost like one of those Xmas balls with the Snowman inside...I hope the end of the day brings only flurries.

Maybe the AOL / Time-Warner merger will be the focus of attention for awhile and LUCENT can start the climb back.

Gotta disagree..reason as you state, "LU stopped bleeding" so quickly isn't because insiders are holding compared to that of Cisco. It's has more to do with valuations...Lu just took at 20+ bath and all the bottom fishers are out thinking their getting a bargain driving up the stock. Also, shareholders that didn't see the drop coming at this point feel they have no choice but to hold considering the alternative which is to sell a depreciated stock for a loss. I have two problems with LU at this point,
1) 4 brokerage firms come out to downgrade this stock after the 20+ decline, however, the same firms loved this stock when it was at 80+...does this make sense. Second, considering shareholders at this point realize Lu management misinterpreted the demand for their 80ch-DMSW, and probably won't be able to meet demand for some time..why are they holding on to this stock considering they the have a broad range of stocks like JDSU, CSCO, etc. LU shareholders will be lucky if LU ever tests 60 in the future..personelly I don't see this coming for another 2-3 quarters.
