I have been invested in GMST for a few months after going to electronic supply houses to observe first hand what the guide had to offer. Needless to say I was very impressed as I have continued to accumulate more shares.

I was talking to a friend at work today and according to him, his local cable company has Gemstar blocked in order to broadcast the cable company's local guide. Can anyone add any comment to this? Would this not defeat the purpose of owning a TV with this type of technology if your local cable company is allowed to block it and force you to use their guide?

Please except my apology if this has already been addressed or if this becomes a non issue if most cable companies use the Gemstar technology.

Thanks,
Fred
