T/A does not, and cannot anticipate unexpected news. I am aware of the holdings by institutions, and volume 500K over average volume does not reflect an immense surge in volume. Actually, I'll have to check and see about the Janus Fund holdings, I am not tuned in to their exact position at this moment. None the less, T/A does lose most credibility in a matter of seconds when "THE mega-merger comes", doesn't it? The explanation I offer is the one that was pointedly given to me this afternoon by someone that understands fundamentals much better than I do. The last large holdout to adopt GMST technology was BOUGHT OUT by a company that has already signed on to GMST'S technology. In effect, AOL gave GMST a gift today, all wrapped up and presented on a platter, when it acquired Time Warner. I didn't see this coming, and I imagine it caught many by surprise. So in effect, I agree with your conclusion that my analysis goes out the window ... AGAIN. I have twice now been shut out of GMST by unexpected news, the last was it's addition to the Nasdaq 100. I will continue trying to get some on a pullback, until then I am left on the sidelines, only to watch. T/A can never accurately predict the future, then again all the fundamental analysis in the world cannot either. I use it to supplement my fundamental analysis, but T/A has served me very well in the past. No need to brag about the good calls, and no need to weep over the incorrect calls. The savvy investor that uses ALL the tools at his disposal is best prepared to build a winning portfolio. Looks like you are taking the approach to add GMST to your portfolio based on it's addition to the Nasdaq 100, is that correct? If so, then in effect you are also making a predictive assumption of an increase in demand based on a single event. In the end, it really is ALL guess work, isn't it? Thanks for at least reading my post, best to you in your investments and especially GMST :o) I've read the Stephens report, all 38 pages, and I understand the business model quite well. That's why I want it after all!!! Regards, JB P.S. My only two holdings both outperformed GMST today. I bought both based on T/A signals, after having carefully researched both companies fundamentals. There is one person that posts to this thread on occasion that can testify to this fact. Melikes GMST, mewants GMST, mejust gots to wait for my GMST ... waiting, waiting, waiting ...
