t2, RE "I guess the bullish fund managers they were too busy buying on the dips to make TV appearances.<ggg>"

You realize, of course, that it is not in the interest of fund managers to talk up the market during a downswing like last week's. Imagine you are a fund manager, and thousands of people have just given you their year 2000 IRA contributions. You have lots of cash, but the market is high. It starts correcting. This is what you want. You let the media talk the market down while you pick up shares.

Please note I'm not talking MM conspiracy theories here. Just self-interest. The fund managers were waiting for this correction, wanted it, and took advantage of it.

So did I, for that matter. :-) I picked up some SDLI, and I bought AMCC for my mother-in-law. (I already owned it.)

Did you all see AMCC pop today? Every owner of JDSU should be in AMCC or PMCS as well. Somebody has to make the chips that drive the optics.

It looks to me that JDSU just hit the top of the upward channel it bounced down off of last Tuesday. I suspect that any move up will sell off before the close. I don't think it will violate the channel much in either direction before the next split. The split isn't until March 10. Of course, JDSU will be near 400 by then if it stays in the channel.
