We have always had a policy of not allowing our message threads to be used to
advertise other sites.

Your statement is ludicrous Bob. Silicon Investor has ALWAYS allowed the
posting of links to other message boards and sites of financial interest to it's
members since it's inception

My statement: "advertise"

Yours: "posting of links"

Ludicrous? It would be ludicrous for me to say that we don't allow "the posting of links to other message boards and sites of financial interest", but I didn't say that.

Posting links to relevant messages on other discussion boards and to news, graphs, and the like on other sites has always been acceptable.

Advertising to our members is not, though.

Do you see the difference? It's very plain to me. I'm the first to admit that there is a lot of gray to our interpretations of what is and isn't acceptable here, but I don't consider this to be one of those areas.

Post a link to a message on Wall Street Investor if you like, but do not advertise it here.

It is one of the reasons people paid to become members here.

Another reason is to not see ads.

Neither God or the Law give you this right.
