AOL now 800 or 8000lb gorilla?..........Executives of both companies said they expect the combined
business to have $40 billion in revenue during its first year of
operation. They forecast $10 billion in cash flow, or earnings
before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, during the
first year of operation. The companies expect to complete the
acquisition by the end of the year.
''They can get to $40 billion without breaking too much of a
sweat,'' said William Blair analyst Abhishek Gami, who rates
America Online shares ''strong buy'' and had forecast the company
would report revenue of $8.3 billion in its fiscal year ending in
2001, up from $4.78 billion in the year that ended June 30.
