As long as it's not for the purpose of advertising the site, yes.

I'm not sure how one would create such a thread for a general-discussion site without it being advertising, though. I'm sure someone will figure it out, though.

We can
post links to research and charts and all the things that Jenna and Tokyo Joe and
Tim and Anthony and many other do or have done on their threads but can't go
around spamming posters with messages to check out The Wall Street Investor or
any other site. Is that correct?


Exactly correct.

Acceptable: "There's an interesting discussion of this phenomenom at someothersite.com;

Unacceptable: "This place bites. Go to someothersite.com instead."
