Hi Folks,

I have not posted on these boards for a long time but who can remain silent in view of the merger of the century? First off, if you think there is not going to be some short term negative price action , you are kidding yourself. This is the largest merger ever and AOL is the acquiring company. But if you think this merger is bad for AOL shareholders in the long term you are fooling yourself!

In order to understand this deal, one has to understand what the internet is all about. One has to understand the logic, however far-fetched it might be, behind the some of the absurd and , in some cases not so absurd valuations of the internet companies.

This is truly a new economic revolution that dwarfs the industrial revolution. The face of commerce is changing permanently. The face of media and exchange of information is changing permanently. In 10 to 20 years , there will be no distinction between T.V. and the internet. All the information you need will be deleivered to you via broadband. You will pay the overwhelming majority of your bills and do the overwhelming majority of your shopping over this medium. You will receive the overwhelming majority of your entertainment over this medium. Does anyone remember the much hyped commercial depicting a motel with every movie ever made available to you anytime you want it? Well that is Aol-time warner. Only add every merchandise you ever wanted to buy or every piece of news, from politics to entertainment, that you want to read. Aol-Warner will be the major landlord of this medium. Be patient and you will be richly rewarded.
