Dow Jones Newswires -- January 11, 2000 Equant Confirms Plan For Voice, Data Svc Over IP Tech ATLANTA -- Equant NV (ENT) confirmed it plans to launch a fully integrated global voice and data service over Internet protocol technology. In a press release Tuesday, the voice, data and Internet services provider said the service will allow businesses to use one network connection to integrate voice and IP data applications. The company plans to launch the 50-country service, which uses modular multiservice routers and voice-over-IP technology from Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO), in February after completing the trial of an 11-country demonstration network. As reported in Tuesday's editions of The Wall Street Journal, Equant has tested the network in 21 cities over the last six months. archive.twst.com
