Hi Stan,
Sorry, I'm not going to be of much value here, but as far as the action in GMGC goes, it appears that it is nothing more than an attempt by those nasty MM's to shake out some weak longs. They know they can drag GMGC down to $5-$5.50 and shake a lot of weak hands out that bought at much loftier levels. Truth is, from a technical standpoint (correct me if I'm wrong) GMGC needs to retrace the gap from $5.50 to $8.00. If it holds a test of 5 1/2 again, even I may buy a short-term position for the real move up. This was too much too quick for me. I have my smidge position left, and I have been trying not to listen to all the rumors floating around about how GMGC is going to be bought by everyone. If you go over to the GMGC thread,
Subject 8582
there are several extremely talented posters on the subject. The takeover rumors seem to be getting stronger each day. I'm not sure what to make of today's price action in particular, but I'm keeping a third eye on it 'just in case.'

This seemed interesting on the topic of GMGC takeover:
(this is not like Gen Magic to behave like this either)
There is something that really troubles me. Why hasn't the web site been updated? The corporate calendar is 1999, the job postings are from November, the last Markman memo is Oct 6th, the news releases are not current, it is still flashing a message about a bogus post from November and I tried to use several of the email addresses for information and my mail was returned.
Message 12526372

Any takeover specialists left on SI? <g>
Bad joke...sorry.

In all seriousness Stan I have traded GMGC since early last year and it has had its ups and downs through that whole time. But it seems better positioned and stronger these days than ever before @ $6.00+

Best of luck with it pally.

B

GMGC: yeah, caught me by surprise, stan. I bought at 5.75 several days ago and was pleased with the result...and then check in at EOD today and...well, what's up with that?

Hope Bryan's right, it's an MM shake, that'd be nice.

Stan...GMGC fans.
I will be giving General Magic a call to see why their site has not been updated for the year 2000. The rampant takeover rumors have sparked my curiosity, and although I only have a small core position in GMGC, it seems as though there is still ample opportunity left in this issue. It may be worth the time to resume some information digging. From yesterday's close at 6 5/16, GMGC is indicating a slightly stronger open: Last dealt at 6 3/4 with a premarket bid at 6 7/16
