Paul,>>>CFO Bryant was trying to predict THE FUTURE.<<<

That may be the problem. He is trying to predict the future 11 weeks out, when he should have a production target in place - making sure that its met - and tweaking for over and under. Sales should already be in hand and customers are warned if they can't be met.

It's really not rocket science. High School mathematics should be sufficient for this exercise. The trouble is Intel executives are trying to make this into rocket science perhaps feeling guilty about receiving such high compensation.

re: "In other words, Niles can easily predict the PAST - once it is "revealed" to him - but CFO Bryant was trying to predict THE FUTURE."

I wish Niles had done the same on Lucent.
