WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen, through his investment vehicle Vulcan Ventures Inc., has taken a 7.6 percent stake in Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (AMEX: LGF), the developer, producer and distributor of movies and television content.

Vulcan beneficially owns 2,515,125 shares, 1,765,000 of which the investment firm has the right to acquire upon conversion of its shares of Series A preferred stock, according to a passive filing made with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The remaining 750,125 can be acquired upon the exercise of a purchase warrant, according to the filing.
