<4. GMST technology is universal, STB or TV will contain the chip GMST needs. If and when (as I feel it is inevitable) STB becomes viable web platform, it will be more for entertainment and relaxation vs. data-centric processing. Therefore, I conclude Guide will still be a must-have feature at that point in time. No net impact on overall usage.>

JB the beauty of our Gem is that it is not a "must have feature" but rather it will be an automatic have feature.
As the percentage of guide tvs increases, there will come a point where it will be harder to buy a tv without the guide then it is to buy one with it. So when people go to buy a tv
they will not need to make a concious decision on whether to buy the guide or not, it will be like Prego spagetti sauce, "It's already in there".

As far as Nielson is concerned. My sister in law is a VP for Nielson, I will ask her if they have or intend on having a rating program for Gem. Never thought to ask her because i would be surprised to see a rating program on a program guide. I'll let you know what she says.

I believe you have up till the earnings release to pull the trigger. At which time better then expected earnings will be announced, plus it will show guide shipments are on plan or ahead of plan, and the same for ad revenues.

As a wise uncle once said, the seats are cheap right now.
The price of addmision will be much higher come the first week of Feb.

Coudl u help me with the GMST / PAGE association?

I understand that PAGE has narrowband PCS licenses nationwide.

For GMST to broadcast their guide via PAGE, would the TV owners need special antenna.

And since it is narrowband broadcasting, primarily used for 2-way paging, would PAGE need anatennas every few miles or in cities with hi-rise bldgs., practically every other block
