Dell - Selling in Singapore
Independent Buy-Side Research By The-Adviser.com - Tuesday, 1/11/2000
WHY US
Benefits

(Analyst is MD. Porcelain) - New York- Last week, our analysts spent some time visiting several major Dell clients based in Asia. Although this was not a formal survey, out gut tells us that lower average selling prices ("ASP"s) in the US domestic market are increasingly being offset by increased sales of high margin business computers in the Asian market. This bodes well for the stock price.
Below is a summary of our conversations:

Revenue Growth in Asia is Expanding Dell continues to have record shipment growth in Asia-Pacific and Japan. Despite the company employing the direct business model for only 4 quarters, revenue growth is near 60%.

Market Share Expanding - Dell continues to gain market share in the Asian region. Companies previously using Apple based computers are increasingly turning to Dell as their supplier of choice.

Increased Growth of Servers - Dell is increasingly being able to sell its "Enterprise" servers to large business customers. The recent IBM services deal will help support future growth to International customers looking for comprehensive global support.

We expect to see Dell trade near between $40 and $44 and expect an upside to $55 before the year is out. We maintain our short-term and long-term rating of BUY on Dell. Our EPS estimates are indicated below:

Q1A Q2A Q3A Q4E Year
1999 EPS $.16 $.19 $.18 $.22 $.75
