On mergers,

My experience has been that mergers of two large companies has a negative impact on the resulting stock. I've always steered clear of them. I think AOL/TWX will thrive, but near term prospects for the stock I think will be pretty volatile. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious.

Re: AOL/TWX Swap

Well, folks. . .there you go. . . .a wrong call. AOL has moved lower and is still selling with high volume. . . the bad part is that it is dragging TWX along with it. . . .looks like we'll have to wait this one out.

The TWX discount has fallen into the 12-13% range. Trading in AOL for TWX yesterday looks good today. If you started with 100 shares of AOL, you're better off by ~$250.

Swap looks good, Rande. Your call lessened the pain, at least.

P.

Rande, do you like LQID here? My buy of ISLD yesterday turned out very timely. :)

Which one would be better long term? LQID or HEAR?
