AOL offers service in many corners of the world and every crack in America. They also filter out spam very well. At least in Britain it is fairly reliable and cheap when compared with the other services - for heavy users. It also runs on just about any POS machine out there, unlike many services. And if you travel, the number of national ISPs is limited and most of them are worse than AOL in my experience in the states.

[I have no position in AOL]

Wonder if AOL will cut mine, too. I am keeping it for business reasons, my email address is on my business cards, letterheads, and ads, so switching would not be smart. If you change phone numbers, the phone company will give your new phone number, if you move, the post office will forward your mail, but if you change email addresses, tough.
