Ted, A very positive analysis of the current state of affairs. Intel is left with marketing methods to try and stem the onslaught since AMD cannot produce enough parts for about a year to even reach 50% market penetration Intel would be a fool to cut prices across the board....will they be that fool? Cut their oen ASP to ribbons in a last ditch attempt to derail AMD? No, they wee the writing on the wall by CPQ, GTW, IBM and a host of smaller players. AMD is needed and no matter what they will donate share to AMD to sustain it because they like the low prices. With AMD dead, low prices would be gone forever.
So the tough little Athlon has poked it's way into the 500 pound Gorillas' party and will not leave.
