Business Week

Four page story this week on DoCoMo Netphone, Japan's packet switched wireless craze. Something amazing --- to the effect that the company's 1999 revenues were $36 BILLION.

Technically, the DoCoMO network sounded approximately like Metricom's --- apparently every kid in Japan is walking around with a wireless IP (not circuit-switched) device.

As a device, it sounded very much like some Metricom type variant aimed at DoCoMo's self-contained cell-phone-like device instead of a subscriber's PC.

Article went out of its way to hammer in the fact that we Americans are among the LEAST connected :))

(When's the last time you saw a bidet, anyway?)

Come to Finalnd --- where ELON is the standard..! :))
