Neil, funny you mentioned VTSS, I was just looking at it this morning. I also like XLNX. Have you ever looked at IRF?

RESEARCH ALERT-Vitesse Semiconductor target upped
NEW YORK, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers said on Tuesday it raised its price target on Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. (NasdaqNM:VTSS - news) to $72 from $46.

-- Late Monday Vitesse reported quarterly earnings, which met Lehman's earnings per share target of $0.14. Earnings would have been $0.15 if the company would not have accelerated research and development spending, Lehman said.

-- Lehman said Vitesse expects shipments to Lucent Technology Inc. (NYSE:LU - news), its largest customer, to grow 12 to 15 percent sequentially in the March quarter, as Lucent ramps its OC-192 transmission system production.

-- Last week Lucent shares nose-dived 23 percent when it warned about first-quarter earnings, in part due to lack of manufacturing capacity to keep up with the red-hot demand for optical networking equipment.

-- If investors believe that Lucent can fix its capacity constraints, then it is possible that Vitesse may see some increased revenue sequentially, said analyst Kevin Vassily.

-- Shares of Vitesse were down 3-3/8 at 46-3/16 in trade on the Nasdaq stock market. Until investors get comfortable with Lucent, there may be pressure on Vitesse as well, said analyst Kevin Vassily.

-- Lehman raised its expectation for sequential revenue growth rate for this quarter to 10 percent, up from 8 percent.

-- Earnings per share estimates remain at 64 cents for fiscal year 2000 and 93 cents for fiscal year 2001.
