- Why AMD is languishing today inspite of a serious bull run on Intel

Who said AMD is languishing....it ate an 8 course meal yesterday, and today its popping some Tums in an effort to digest it......this is one of the healthiest tech stocks right now in my opinion!!

- What you see for the short term leading into Intel's earnings and immediately after

I think to some degree Intel's and AMD's stocks are disconnected from each other. I continue to believe that AMD's trend is up as we approach its earnings. If Intel has a good quarter, then AMD will benefit. If Intel has a bad quarter, I think AMD will be mildly affected.

- How high do you think this stock will get to before earnings

$38-$40

Re: Why AMD is languishing today inspite of a serious bull run on Intel...

Well, we're up 12.9% in 2 Days, and the NASDAQ is down today, so I don't think it's too terrible if we're only doing a little better than the NASDAQ today. We just broke through a, was it 28?, month high. Gotta be a few people taking the money and running. Seems like they'd be better off waiting for the quarterly report, but hey, it's their money.

Regards,

Dan

Charles,

My reading of price action:

1. Its been a nice run up. We may consolidate in 33-35 range for a few days until intel earnings.

2. Depending on Intel says will probably dictate price action IMHO.

If Intel is bullish in Q1 and says its sold out - I can see AMD at $40 prior to earnings.

If Intel says they are ready with cumine and able to retake marketshare due to lower costs etc - AMD may dump till $30 range or so.

I am pondering selling my AMD position equity and substantial in the money (jan 27.5s) call position and buying an equal amount of slightly out of money Jan calls.

If we do dump to $30 then I would double up on the Jan calls.

Welcome other folks thoughts on how to play the volatility.

regards,

Kash
