It depends on the put to call ratio as to what the likely direction will be. If you sell naked calls and the stock skyrockets, you are going to have to deliver that stock to someone. The players in the option market that are selling puts and calls naked have the ability to move the stock price by buying or selling short the stock. Their goal is to have as many contracts as possible expire worthless.

This probably needs more of an explanation, hopefully somebody else will help.
