Wow, is this OT EMC in line with a conversation I was having earlier today via PM with someone on another thread. Some people here at SI, especially on some of the high flier threads, are so strung out on margin I don't know how they can sleep. One person I know was maxed-out on margin _before_ Christmas and at the maximum on **credit** cards, too. Cash had been withdrawn for increasing their options purchases.

Although many people have scorn for stock brokers and take great pride in handling their own investments online, I am starting to think all people new to the market should start with a broker at a reputable concern. Sure the commissions might be higher, but I can not imagine a reputable broker permitting clients to pull some of the rechid investment stunts many people pull on their own.

Was it J.P. Morgan who said something like, he knew it was time to exit the market when the cab driver was giving him stock tips?
