Autumn...personally, I have stopped trying to make moves based on earnings or split potential...even when I know with no degree of uncertainty that earnings will be great and a split imminent (YHOO), stock sells off...on the reverse side, when you know that numbers will be bad and that there's gonna be a shortfall (IT- Gartner), someone finds a silver lining and the stock does just fine...markets are just too fickle to try to guess what good or bad earnings picture will bring....and while your thoughts on YHOO, AMZN, et al conjure up Steven Tyler'ish stuff around how high can you fly with broken wings, I also think that life's a journey, not a destination (sorry for that one!) and that like they have so many times b4, these guys will continue to rage, b'cuz they ARE the net, while 1000's of others are wannabees at best.
