After reading a post or two about the possibility of a deal with GM, I got to thinking about the GM ONSTAR system. Why has nobody come up with a business plan to utilize the GLOBALSTAR system in a similar fashion? It seems to me that the ONSTAR system is well received. The advertisements I saw were billing it as a safety feature or convenience feature for dealing with auto problems. With some data features built in and decent pricing, this could be a killer application. All of these services for directions and restaurant information over the net would be available anywhere. How about weather info and stock quotes while traveling cross country? Seems like a possibility to me. Just had three glasses of wine. Will probably regret this in the morning.
