software companies do these swaps as well. each party can mark up the revenue ten times above fair market value.

No public internet company so far has agreed to reveal the percentage. But industry experts put it at around 10% for the big names, and up to 80% for the tiny web companies.

Wrong KIS. Just ask Eric Wells about CNET -- they reported the fraction of advertising revenues coming from ad swaps. Sorry I don't have the link or the time to dig it out for you -- just wanted you to be aware that it's been done.
